Bio
Jennifer Butler is a 30 year old West Palm
Beach resident living in the historic Northwood Hills
neighborhood. A busy career, remodeling a house, volunteering
at church and participation in local charitable organizations
leaves her with very little time to eat nutritiously
and exercise. Additionally, after marrying her husband
Matthew in October of 2002, she has gained almost
20 pounds. “I used to be able to eat anything
and not worry about it,” states Jennifer. “But
since turning 30 and getting married, my metabolism
and lifestyle has changed. I am looking forward to
learning good fitness and eating habits by participating
in CityFit!”

Progress

I
met with my trainer, Marze Houellemont of Bally Total
Fitness for the first time on Friday! She did a thorough
analysis of my current fitness state and we set my
fitness goals for the next 6 months! I will
lose 15 - 20 pounds, work on toning my lower
half and building muscle in my arms and shoulders.
Plus my body fat content needs to drop about 3 - 4%.
She
worked me out for about 1 hour, some free weights
and various machines and floor exercises. Boy, I was
using muscles I didn't know I had. About 20 minutes
into the workout, my legs were shaking! But I made
a BIG mistake that I will not repeat, I forgot to
stretch out really good and walked around stiff like
the tin man for three days.
We
are going to be meeting twice a week to work out on
weights and will be discussing cardio training at
or next meeting.
Week of May 30th update: My trainer
wants me to do one hour of cardio three times a week.
So I hobbled through two spin classes and one step
class this week. My trainer has also split my weightlifting
to four times a week, doing upper body twice a week
and lower body twice a week. I stepped on
the scale Friday - to my surprisement
the scale said I was "156" which means I
have lost six pounds.
