Construction Coordinators:
are responsible for inspecting construction projects to ensure they meet construction guidelines and conform to City standards and specifications. All phases of public construction projects are inspected, including the trenching, pipe installation, manholes, water & sewer services, fire-lines and hydrants, pump stations, aerial and sabaqueous crossings, air release valves and structures, roadways, sidewalks, landscaping, street lighting, and buildings.

Construction Coordinators coordinate projects with private engineers, City engineers, City maintenance personnel, utility representatives and other government entities, such as the Florida Department of Transportation, Palm Beach County and the South Florida Water Management District. They oversee the work of contractors to ensure work meets contract specifications and maintain records of on-going construction for "as-build," references. They review and comment on design plans and specifications prior to bid and also review records of on-going construction for "as-builts documentation. They respond to questions, concerns and complaints regarding all construction projects.

Construction Coordinators assume administrative control for project budgets. They make field adjustments and redesign decisions to resolve conflicts and authorize work change orders regarding them. They conduct tests of water and sanitary sewer systems to determine acceptability and compliance with design regulations and they perform final walk through inspections of completed construction projects

There are five Construction Coordinators and one Lead Construction Coordinator assigned to the Engineering Services Division.
