Kaleidoscope 2003 Award Winners Announced
 

 
     
 

The City of West Palm Beach joins with the School District of Palm Beach County and The Milagro Center to announce the following award winners at Kaleidoscope 2003, the multi-cultural festival recently held in downtown West Palm Beach.

Winner of the Best Overall Award was the Venezuela partnership of Bright Futures Charter School and Grove Park Elementary School with Grupo Folklore Latino.

The Award for the Most Creative and Authentic Representation of a Culture was won by the Tanzania partnership of Touissant L’Overture High School for Art and Social Justice and Banyan Creek Elementary School with the Kilamanjaro Institute of Technology.

The Award for Best Educational Value was won by the Panama partnership of Cholee Lake Elementary School and the Panama Cultural Group.

The Guatemala-Maya partnership of Lake Worth Middle School and the Guatemala-Maya Center won the Best First Timer Award.

The Best Partnership Award went to the Bahamas partnership between Gladeview Elementary School in Belle Glade and The International Students Club at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Twenty-eight schools and 17 cultural organizations participated in Kaleidocope 2003 to create 19 villages about countries and cultures around the world.

Kaleidoscope is produced by the City of West Palm Beach in partnership with The School District of Palm Beach County and The Milagro Center. The event was presented by Montgomery & Larson, Attorneys at Law, and sponsored by WRMF, WPTV NewsChannel 5, Palm Beach Post, Adelphia, Bank of America, Southwest Airlines, SWAT, Good Samaritan Medical Center, and Palm Beach County.
