Welcome from the Mayor

It is my great pleasure to invite you to join the City of West Palm Beach in imagining an active and vibrant downtown waterfront that will distinguish our City as a world-class destination. We envision a collaborative process that will result in the design of an incomparable waterfront and a public gathering place that will become our “City Commons.”

Our waterfront already features ingredients for a design of distinction: a breathtaking vista; a mile-long esplanade running parallel to Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway; and a green space of magnificent proportion. Our City Commons will be prominently located at the foot of Clematis Street, a site that will showcase the social, economic, cultural and historic fabric of our City.

Our invitation is your opportunity to meet and reveal our waterfront’s unique qualities and outstanding resources. We challenge you to help us design a masterpiece that will dramatically change the face of our City for all time.
